St Mawes
What was once a quaint, quiet Cornish fishing village retains much of its historic charm but it is no longer a backwater…indeed St Mawes can justifiably lay claim to being one of the most popular property hotspots in Cornwall. Yes, many of the super properties in the village are second homes or holiday rentals (sometimes both) but many folk are now choosing to make this charming village their home.
A tight knit spot at the end of the sprawling Roseland peninsular, St Mawes’ appeal is easy to see. Historic, characterful, large properties jostle with pretty cottages in its pretty streets, all circling a beautiful Cornish fishing harbour, which still sees the occasional trawler leave its quayside but more often than not these days it will be cruisers and pleasure craft on the water, as well as the ferries plying their trade in and around the Carrick Roads waterways.
